🟥 RADA!? COLDCASE/MEDIA BIAS: BONEFACE KARIUKI.THE SHOOTING UNMASKED. “When Context Is Cut, Truth Bleeds.” and THE TRUTH

What the media showed:

A masked cop rushing a hawker and firing. The first scenes? Masked in no show!!

What they didn’t:

The argument that sparked it, the taunts, the tension, and the suggested tangled history between the two men and the officer Unmasked the Four Characters Involved (The vender in blue hoody, the shooter, the other guy in greyish jumper and the 2nd officer.)

We condemn the shooting—unequivocally. But we also condemn the edit. Because when media trims the buildup and amplifies the bang, it doesn’t inform—it incites. But we also expose the distortion. Because beneath the flashpoint lies a deeper civic rot:

  • 👥 Prior familiarity: The officer and the vendor, it's suggestive, weren’t total strangers . Seemed they’d met before—sometimes friendly, sometimes conspiratorial, sometimes complicit.

  • 🎭 Mockery and provocation: The vendor didn’t just stand there. He mocked, challenged, and taunted the officer in a moment of heightened chaos. His friend obeys the officer and calmly leaves.

  • 🧥 Thugs in disguise ?: Nairobi’s demos often blur the line—hawkers, mask sellers, and provocateurs sometimes overlap. The officer may have recognized a familiar face in a familiar role. We will never know which!

  • 🕰️ Bad timing, worse judgment: The altercation wasn’t random. It was a powder keg—lit by history, stress, and a job that demands instant control. The officer's attentions seemed to be preoccupied by other developing matter and his partner was waiting for him and seeing his partner in a dilemma he rushes over and together they confront the vendor. The rest was a reckless move so unfortunate and heart breaking for both sides.

Your Vote Is the Verdict.

The footage was cropped. The outrage was instant. The media smilled all the way to the bank. But what do you see?
